Do you need mineral oil or is the sponge enough by itselfe?

You can but I would use some oil, as I found that it not only lubricates but helps to grab even more dust from the filament

After a good print and easy installation job, this model worked as promised. Thanks for the file.

The only thing I now see is that the printing process makes a little "squit" noise while pulling the filament while it is in tension. If I unwind a couple of centimeters it goes away... bur restarts after some seconds... prints come put fine anyway but it is a little annoying.

I printed flowing the recommendation of 50% infill. Any ideas?

One other thing, the filter box is not very well closed (the sponge is small enough) but it isn't completely open either.

Corrupt file on ver2... Stops printing halfway through... Only happens with this g-code!

You're the only one who had the issue with stopping half way. It printed for me just fine, numerous times while I was making it.

Strange!!! Must be something on my end...

Worked great! That hinge is fantastic. Put a couple of pieces of sponge in with some mineral oil. Machine is purring. Thanks so much.

The fact that a functional hinge can be made in a single print blew my mind. I never knew this could be done. Oh, the possibilities.

I'm not sure if I'm the only one having this problem, but the filament guide is off-center. This causes the filament to rub against the side of the guide closest to the extruder arm. As a result, the extruder wheel makes a very unpleasant sound as it struggles to feed the filament and prints under extrude.

Not wanting to cause any premature wear/damage to the extruder wheel, I popped the cap open on the extruder guide which immediately relieved the tension. I'm gonna try and widen the holes on the extruder guide and see if that fixes it.

Overall, this is very well done design. It just needs to be tweaked a little.

Yeah, I found that out.... I forgot to widen the hole like I did originally, I forgot to do it in Meshmixer... I noticed it grinding myself, will fix in the next day or two and upload again. To fix it yourself though you can just take a hobby knife or whatever and carefully widen the top hole the back.
