I was wondering if I actually uses this as a functional gear, would I get undulations of high to low torque? I was thinking of using it for a bug walker because it only needs high torque when it is on the ground and less when it is in the air. Although it may be difficult to keep the gears together.

Very cool functional model. I've made a few up using SLS with the company logo.

Single piece construction. No work was required. Pulled straight from the machine and lightly sandblasted, leaving the fully functional set of gears. I can upload the .stl's if anyone would like.

i cant wait to get back to NYC and cut some of these. very cool.

Can you describe how you went from SLIDE files that Schoner's software generates to the .dxf? SLIDE looks very cool but from a quick scan it seems like a 29 step process to get to a .dxf file...
