I have problems with the bottom not being flat. Any possibility to do a quick fix for this on the model?

I did a -0,3mm offset in the Z axis in Cura to combat the problem with the bottom not beeing flat.

Where are people getting the oil cap and spark plug cover from?

I ask myself that hehehe

Printed fine for me on Makerbot Replicator +. Made for my sister as a gift. Thanks!

When I load this into S3D, the bottom is not flat? What orientation did you print this in? File seems pretty screwed!

I am getting the same in MatterControl, with the Cura engine. I can see the space between the bottom of the model and the build plate in the virtual build. I ran it once as is, but it failed bad by the second layer, and the primer outline was only around the card holder portion. I clipped 0.5mm off the bottom (might get away with less?) and it seems to be printing normally now. I think the valve cover portion needs to be moved down just a hair.

I use Cura for all of my printing. It seems like it has a step on the bottom of the model, but based on the print resolution, Cura didn't have any problems. I have printed the file multiple times, at different scales without any issues. I try not to post any flawed models or bad prints. I printed in the posted orientation. Please let me know post print, what problems you have and I will be happy to correct any issues with the file.

What setting are you using? Nozzle size?

Normal Cura PLA settings. Layer height @ .2 . Nozzle @ .4 . Top/bottom layer thickness @ 1 . Wall thickness @ 1 . Print speed @ 50mm/s . Infill speed @ 60mm/s . Travel speed @ 100mm/s . Infill @ 20%. Scale @ 100%. Platform Adhesion - skirt.

Top/bottom layer thickness of 1mm worked better for me. It was too thin at 0.1.

^that's correct. 0.1 top/bottom layer thickness is too thin. the top layer is see-thru. I printed this with my standard PLA profile. .2 height with 20% infill. I also added a oil cap from http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2552367 and printed it at 75% and it fitted perfect. Now i need to find spark plug wires and maybe make a silver spark plug cover.
Edit: 2hrs later and I have designed both the spark plug wire and cover. will post

At no point in my posting did I ever say .1mm top/bottom. Check it again. I pride myself on my work and never post anything until I work out all of the designs and especially my print settings. I also proof read everything before posting. So, just for those who can't read so good, I added an update to make it very clear. Hope this helps.
