Seems like a sweet build you have going on. Have you done all upgrades? How much better does your printer run? Any advice to better my G2s printer would be great.

Thanks! - yes, i've done these as well as all the upgrades at http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2157448 (version 2 of this). It prints really well - i'll post up a benchy later on to give you an idea.

Based on what i've seen with mine, I think the biggest issue with the G2s is the carriages. The 2 bearing design results in way too much play, and I actually measured almost .300mm of Z error when moving away from the towers. There are some 3 bearing designs on Thingiverse that work with the stock arms. I'm really happy with my 4 bearing setup - zero play or slop.

Another amazing (but not cheap) upgrade was the Duet Wifi motion board. It can drive the printer to upwards of 300mm/s, as opposed to the GT2560 which would start to studder around the 80mm/s mark. It is much smoother, and WAY quieter....almost can't even hear the motors anymore!

If I could do it again, I think instead of the E3D Cyclops, i'd go with an E3D v6 though....the Cyclops is cool but trick to use on the day to day.

So I have started to order some stuff. I ordered the arms, bushings, and optical end stops. I would love some of your help and input. Also i was wondering how u made the aluminum effector? Do you have a CAM/CAD file to it?

I milled the effector out of aluminum, but it could be just as easily done in ABS or PET. PLA would probably be fine. In the "thing" files there is a STEP file of the entire assembly - the effector model is there. If you have trouble with it, let me know and I can split it out for you.
I have the native CAM file, but it would only be useful if you have a mill and run Mastercam.

Id recommend using all the models in the version 2 of this thing....I made a few small changes since this version to some of the models.

Any questions let me know! It was a fun build.

I do run mastercam :) and I have access to a mill too.

Ok - I've uploaded the Mcam files for both the effector, and the bed (I cut this out of a 1/4" thick Aluminum plate). I uploaded it here: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2157448.

Let me know if you have any questions!

Ah ok then....I'll send you the Mcam file on Monday (I milled it at work) so you can mill it if you choose to - you could definitely print it though without losing much.
I mostly chose to mill it as I knew the mill I was using could hold the magnetic arm stud locations to a very tight tolerance - much tighter than the printers.
