do you have this working with the plug in?

I ended up using the "Filament Sensor Reloaded" plugin, which gives a nice settings UI section. I'm sending an M600 gcode when the sensor trips, as that puts my Original Prusa i3 mk2 in to a nice pause-to-change-filament state. Make sure to tell Octoprint that this is a long-running command or it will very likely give up on waiting for the printer and abort your print with a timeout error.

I also wrote a custom plugin to detect when M600 gcode happens (either injected by the Filament Sensor Reloaded plugin, or occurring naturally in a layered multi-material print) to send a text message to my phone.

It's on my Big List Of Things To Do to write all this up to make it fairly easy to follow, but it's been there for a good few months now so don't hold your breath!

I have a job printing right now that I'm not entirely sure if it'll finish before the filament runs out, so I started looking into filament sensors and ran across yours...will probably remix it into something that can be bolted on to my printer.

You mentioned this with regard to setting up the sensor:

Make sure to tell Octoprint that this is a long-running command

Where do you do this? Google isn't my friend when I search on "octoprint long running command," and I'm not seeing anything in the options to this effect.

Digging into the code...src/octoprint/settings.py has this on line 10 within the definition of the default_settings struct:

"longRunningCommands": ["G4", "G28", "G29", "G30", "G32", "M400", "M226", "M600"],

Looks like it's already in there (at least as of now). Guess I'll be playing around a bit more with OpenSCAD in a bit. :)
