I am doing a version @324mmm centers would that be good enough. Here is a mention here for another guy.

I will try to get it done in the next day or so.

Any chance you would make one with a wider footprint? I have a 350mmx350mm heater, ~450mm bed, and would like some more stability on the platform by moving the rails out. The current design (Wilson 2) with this size bed has about 1/3 of the bed outside of the rails (going from memory).

Awesome, thanks. I'll be printing it within a week, I'll let you know how it comes out.

There has been issues with the printed size for fitting the Linear rail. I tend to go for almost under extrusion to achieve as close to accurate printing as possible. As you know when doing holes etc you get shrinkage so maybe make sure you try the test peice and maybe get one of those calibration tests with holes to make sure you can tweak you settings to get it as accurate as possible..

Also print one first if it is too tight I would do the heat trick and heat up the Linear rail end with a heat gun and tap it into the hole. You can try taping it in cold.

I have contemplated making a simpler and probably more ugly setup to do the same thing as I have designed belt and motor brackets for OpenBuilds project that could be used for this setup.

Details are here http://openbuilds.org/builds/3d-printbot-500x500x500.4469/

Thanks for the info. I have been thinking of leadscrew for the Y axis also. What speeds were you getting with that setup? I've already blown 1 stepper running too fast with the huge bed, so I've slowed the speed (30mm/s) and acceleration way down. My bed vibrates at higher accelerations, which I believe the better Y footprint will help with, along with an aluminum honeycomb sandwich bed support.

I'm only running a 200x300 bed on this setup at the moment. If you go to the Wilson forums you will see Squid has a 400x400 setup on this... he is actually the guy that requested the 324mm spacing setup for his machine. He is a nice and helpful guy, so message him and he will get back to you.
