Hi, I'm having some issues with the belt tensioner on X axis. I've already broken 3 of them.
Now I'm trying with an infill of 100%.
It should be printed with a different alignment?

some questions:

1) did you have problem with Anet A8 heatbed on P3Steel carriage or it fits ?
2) did you buy only P3Steel frame to do this upgrade and re-use all other things from Anet A8 ? (except printed parts)

2.- I did reuse al other parts from anet.

May I ask how many mm is the distance between the smooth rod and trapez. lead screw on X motor mount?
And how many mm is the distance between the 2 horizontal smooth rods on the X assembly?
(I'm just curious, if you are using the very same steel frame, like I have so I can compare your values to mine before I would print anything)

I'm sorry but I am on my holidays and won't be back until the 15th of august. Anyway they will probably be the same, because the drawings are those published in the reprap.org web page.

Does this kit already contain ALL parts needed to do the upgrade or is something missing?

Hi, yes here are all the needed part but It will be recommended to change the carriage as well. I am working in a design for a direct system and it will be published in a few days.


I understand where some of the parts go, but a lot of them I can not work out. Some of them look like Chain carriers and others I just dont know.

Can you not put a BOM list up please.

Hi, in a near future I will try to make a guide. So far, you can tell me what do you need and I'll try to help you.
All the parts included has been tested and working in my printer.
I had to make some modifications to the original support of the x carriage in order to make it compatible with prusa's, and maybe that is your problem.

Hi, On the X axis where the belt tensioner is, what stops the bars from pushing outwards when you tension the belt. Was there supposed to be a braced on the end?

There is no need to put a stop at the end for the bars, they keeps in there alone.

Hi, I have made these but in your design, the outside measurement is 52mm on X axis but on my anet a8 its 54mm. I've been trying to remix this but having no success. Can you change the design for the newer A8 size?

Thanks but I ended up just designing my own. After I get the steel printing I'll probably go a more generic route or prusa widths for more accessible option's

Disculpa la tardanza, no ví tu mensaje. Sí que se nota el cambio. El panel LCD lo puedes colocar arriba en el centro, yo lo tengo suelto, aún no le he dado un sitio fijo. Es que en el mueble que la tengo me viene mejor suelto para verlo. No obstante uso octoprint y al display poco uso le doy.

Hay algun cambio en el tamaño de impresion? en la foto se ve mas chica la estructura de metal :D

Si, ahora solo llega a 190mm de alto, aunque no creo que con el chasis de la anet se llegara a imprimir algo de 240 en condiciones con lo que debe oscilar a esa altura. En x e y pierdes aproximadamente 1.5cm. Creo que te compensará el cambio ;-)

Tienes que cortarlas, aunque por comodidad con el chasis yo compre un juego de varillas nuevas. Me costaron 18€ creo recordar.

entoces seria comprar chasis, varillas, rodamientos e imprimir las piezas que pones ahi verdad? de electronica hay que tocar algo?
a mi me vino una de las piezas del chasis rota y en el montaje tuve que reparla que aunque quedo bien cada vez que lo veo me acuerdo del chino.

Yo compré chasis, varillas y un juego de tornillería. De cabeza, 47€+19€+4€.
Rodamientos no compré, no los necesité y electrónica igual, tampoco necesité cambios. Si te sirve de orientación, yo lo compré en orballoprinting.

las barras lisas las tuviste que cambiar? o es plug and play? osea iimpriir las piezas que ahi poner y adquirir un chasis de la steel?
