This stem-shaped holder for paperclips and tiny trinkets was created using the program Solidworks. Leaf extensions store small objects and snap on to the separate stem/branch base part.
To be used in conjunction with the Pyramid Hanger. http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1968058
Overview and Background
Our original design included a stem stand similar to our final design but we thought we would layer stoppers and leaf parts. The stoppers would be tight fixtures around the stem to hold the leaves in place. The problem with this design was the fact that the leaves could not rotate and there were too many parts since the plan included stopper parts and leaf parts. Our new design was more effective since the leaves could snap on and be taken off with ease.
In the old design, leaf parts are restricted to their positions as they layer on the stem part. In our final design, the snap on leaves are more effective because they can attach to any part of the stem
Lesson Plan and Activity
Recent analysis by the Staples finance department has concluded that sales for desktop organization products have declined in recent years. The company would like to ramp up their profits in this area by enhancing the aesthetic nature of these products.
Your group of three has been hired to design a set of theme-based organizational products. Your team will design a set of office supplies that are tied together with a common theme. You must be able to justify the theme that connects the products together. The idea is that the customer will not want to buy just one; they will want to buy the whole set.
