Great model idea! But, gotta ask, why did you not use a SnowTrooper head instead of the regular Stormtooper? The question begs to be asked.

That is a good question. I designed this for the remix competition last year. If memory serves me right the rules required that the models we use be posted under the creative commons tag. The storm trooper head model I used was the only one I found with the creative commons tag.
+Plus I really like the typical classic stormtrooper look.

How did you did this mold ? With what software/freeware ?

I want to do one with my kids faces :) ...

Here is how I designed this:

first off I imported each part into meshmixer, so I could export them as a .obj file. (123D Design doesn't let you use the Subtract and or Merge option with an .stl).

In 123D I added a box Slightly larger than the head and Merged it flush with the mold on both sides.

Lastly I lined up the stormtrooper helmet and subtracted it from both sides.

*I will add the object file from before I added the helmet.

thanks for your quick reply ! Very appreciated.

Here is the link for the mold without the head.

Custom Headed Snowman Mold

Front part is printed in full size, first test in snow was very promising. I'll add the make when the back is finished as well.
Thanks for the great idea and design!

I am glad you like it. Even though it takes a while to print, for a starwars enthusiasts it is well worth it.

Just started printing this. Sadly, I have to print it at 40% size because my Makerbot is down and the only thing I have is my M3D. I will post some pictures of it on the next snow. Might be some snow next weekend. Guess we will see then.

I will also try printing it on my Makerbot at full size once it is back up and running.

Good luck, I look forward to seeing your results. I am still waiting for the first snow of the season in my area.

I printed it and it all fits together perfectly. I will post pictures once it snows. I have some snow in the forecast this weekend so if it does anything I will try and test it out. The only problem I had with it is that the raft fused to the print but that is a problem with my printer, not your model.
