I really like the design and look of your lighting system. Please comment with additional information on wiring or links to hardware you used for installation. Thx

What I can add to the summary:

  • for the DC-DC boost step-up converter, search on ebay for 'DC-DC 8-48v to 12V-50V 24V Boost Step-up Converter Constant Current Power Supply'
  • for a simple on/off system, you can use an on/off switch and the current limit functionality of this DC-DC module (set to 500 mA max) and the three 12 volt LED strips in series.
  • I used a switch with 3 positions, to feed the LED strips with 500 mA, 250 mA and off. I used a LM317, the three position switch and three resistors to create a current source of 500 and 250 mA. For 500 mA I used one 2.4 ohm (2W) resistor, for 250 mA I used two 2.4 ohm (2W) resistors in series. Make sure the resistors are 2 watt. For the schematic, search for 'lm317 current source'.

Thanks for the info. I will be trying this out soon. :D
