Looks good. My cad software doesn't play well with the files I get from here, can you give me the dimensions? Thanks.

Have printed it twice with PLA, 0.2 layer on Ultimaker 3. Both times this part (pic) was broken extremely easy, when I have tried to make parts movable after a print.. Also it is a stress point, so I think it could break even in after use. But actually the lever looks really nice, so I will do a similar design just with thicker walls.
Also I think from same idea, that it is a stress point, it is not nice to print it vertically - then this place consists out of layers glued together and it is easy to break between layers. It would be much stronger, if layers would go along Z direction of this part.
So I would modify to print parts being parallel (like latch being in a closed position) with some (automatically generated) support in between. Can you please modify "regular latch position for printing v2" like this? Thank you.

I've tried printing this object but I cannot loosen the latch arm or the latch handle without breaking the internal rods off. I'm printing using ABS @ 0.2mm with 2 shells.

Any tips/suggestions?


Another strategy is to lower your extrusion modifier. For pieces that need to interface like this, I've had good success by dropping the extrusion modifier. For me that has meant going down 3-5%.

How do you control extrusion modifier with Cura for example ?

Hmm...it seems that ABS parts are harder to separate. Try printing it in PLA. Or if printing in ABS, try scaling it up a bit which will increase the space around the joints.

Broke for me as well and I printed at 100 percent infill. The screw holes in the lever leave very little material remaining either side. I think a redesign is required.
