now if only I could find a printable Lord Saladin armor set....

I think you have the wrong video lol.

Yeah, I blame Thingiverse for that. That was the video I used as a tutorial on how to braid leather straps for the grip, and I linked to it in my write up on how I built the axe. Thingiverse decided that because I linked it there it should be included in the gallery, and I can't get it out of there without getting rid of the link

Hey man,

I love this and I want to make it but i have an issue. My print bed is only 200mm x 200mm. Where would you suggest slicing the heads to allow maximum strength and still be full size?

For the tip of the blade, I'd cut it as close to max height as you feel comfortable with, for the part that holds to the interface, I'd slice it a little bit higher than where you would put the rib, lets say about 65 mm from the block that fits into the interface. For both splits, I would also recommend that you add a block on either side of the split and add 1/8" holes into it (same as I used for joining the left and right halves of the head. That should give you the stability you need. I might still go with a lighter chain than what I used, just in case. The metalshop that Bungie contracted to make a metal version of the axe looks to have used lighter duty chain than I did anyway
