It´s such a beatiful thing! Love it

i cheated a bit, but i’m happy with the outcome. wanted one since i was 7.

Nice. I just printed the single twice. Gold and silver. BUT: how to get them together??? Its impossible? Have I to cut them in some hidden part?

Please release a surface scaled texture version!!!

I'm trying desperately to flatten this thing out to the book cover version, I am a COMPLETE novice in this regard though. Could someone a bit more experienced rush through it for us fans?

You mention in the description that you wanted to eventually add texture. Have you had any luck with that?

THE NEVER ENDING STORY AHAAHAAHa!!!

AWE NO WAY!! So cool.

Love this model :)but could you please make a dualstrudable version with a relatively flat bottom?

thanks

I'm not really sure what's required for dualstrusion I've never worked with one of those before, what would be different about the file?

I could probably help get something that might work, but you may have better luck using the .blend file to make if just right for you setup.

Blender is a little daunting at first, but any time spent learning how to use it is worth it, and there are tons of tutorials and even a free ebook. I've
used it to make fixes and adjustments to a few models I've downloaded from here.

Support material is currently imposible for dualstrusion so the bottoms of models need to be relatively flat.

I have semi successfully used dualstrusion by combining the two single snakes you posted

I will post a pic soon :)

I'm having a bitch printing this. Does anyone know a good tutorial for doing support material in Skeinforge?

You should just be able to turn it on and it takes care of the rest. The support material settings are on the bottom of the raft tab if you are using the most recent skeinforge. I use:

Support Cross Hatch = true
Support Flow Rate over Operating Flow Rate = 1
Support Gap over Perimeter Extrusion Width = .75
Support Material Choice = Support Material Everywhere
Support Material Angle = 45

The support material is a little dense right now so I'll probably adjust that at some point,
but it works.

Documentation for these settings can be found here http://fabmetheus.crsndoo.com/wiki/index.php/Skeinforge_Rafthttp://fabmetheus.crsndoo.com/...

Big fan of this. :)

I JUST picked up a copy of the movie 2 days ago to show to my daughter! Perfect timing!

This is amazing! You've just made a dream come true, I've wanted to have one of these for the past 27 years or so. :-D

Would you consider adding a model of just one snake, for those of us who might like to print it in two different colors and then weave them together by hand?

Me too! I always wanted one, so it was the first thing I modeled after I got my printer working.

I'll put up an stl of the single snake and the blender file this weekend. If you get a multicolor print done, be sure to post a picture!

Very awesome. I think I'll need to leather-bound my copy of the book and affix this to the cover.

Thanks!
