Does anybody have a solution for a matching power supply module? I would like to add a one or two slots wide module that holds a beefy 5V PSU but all the (enclosed) switching power supplies I found up to now seem to be around 95-100mm wide which would take up three slots.

Anyone happen to find a working alternative to the bracket? Found a few on BH Photo but they only have 4 slots and it would need to be modified I suspect to work

Any chance of a 1U version that you may know of?

Hey there, is there a USA version of the German rack panel you've linked us to? I seemed to not be able to find it or able to translate it.

US store --- https://www.amazon.com/Modular-connector-frame-holds-panels/dp/B000X920KQ/?tag=tv-auto-20

I found it on a remix of the original.

Also, there was a flag in the top right corner of the site that would translate it.

Hope that helps

Would love to see if they have a 1U version of it, as well as a re-design to do a 1U design horizontal instead of vertical like the 2U design. I only ask this since I would not have enough Pi's to take up the space for 10 pis.

Edit: Maybe something like this to start? https://www.amazon.com/Raxxess-Panel-Decora-Devices-Black/dp/B00ALN98FO/ref=sr_1_114?srs=2599386011&ie=UTF8&qid=1531022181&sr=8-114

If the windows dimension are compatible with the Pi, yes that's possible to adapt that, but I can't do thats without the part ;)

Thanks for the link, i put that on the description ;)

I don't know :/
See on specialised US music WebShop ?

Many thanks for this project !
Gave me a lot of idea... I will most probably print some of these, and perhaps try to design other plates for wireless gateway.

By the way, would you kindly provide me with hints on how to attach and control the LEDs on the GPIO for Power (seems quite obvious), HDD Usage and FAIL ?

Thanks !

So yes you can find here a part of your wish : https://github.com/RagnarJensen/PiLEDlights.
You can create also a custom led status with a GPIO script ;)

I was looking for a rackmount solution for ages before I stumbled on your make - I love it!

I did find the same frame in the US (on Wayfair) listed as a 'Raxxess Modular connector frame' but had my order cancelled as they were no longer available. I took the musicstore.de option - the shipping costs are understandably high, but it arrived quickly.

Most options I'd found to date aim to bolt a single RPi to your rack. I did find a 1u option on Amazon but it only held 3 RPis and was in reality a very poor 3D print. You design really makes use of space. I blogged about my build https://www.nickcox.co.uk/2017/07/24/how-to-rackmount-raspberry-pi/ and explain the alternative 1u option I found and tried.

Nice link!

You have an other solution, you can build your own frame quickly with just only two plate in aluminium : https://www.leroymerlin.fr/multimedia/d74118407/produits/plat-aluminium-brut-l-1-m-x-l-0-75-cm.jpg

The frame can also be bought off of Amazon. About $20 currently, shipped: https://www.amazon.com/Modular-connector-frame-holds-panels/dp/B000X920KQ, or anyone else who may be looking.

Haha - simple when someone points it out!

Currently out of stock on Amazon, I contacted a USA music store that carries Raxxess products. This was their response,

Chief Manufacturing (Raxxess) has acquired Middle Atlantic and were planning to build Chief racks & accessories through the end of the year but have changed their mind and are now focusing only on Middle Atlantic products. As a result, the Chief MCF is now discontinued and no longer available.

Loos like my only option is to order from Germany with a huge shipping charge.

Do you have a link / type of the rack - frame ?

Hi, do you happen to know any retailer that will ship the rack frame to Australia at a reasonable price? Thanks.

Thank you....

Looks very neat! Good job!
