Re: WarHawk8080 I ordered this module:

this one has input voltage 40V so you do not need to reduce the out voltage of the inverter
Rgds

Found this one..the listing from the details page was unavailable
http://www.ebay.com/itm/AC-DC-Inverter-100-240V-To-36V-5A-180W-Switching-Power-Adapter-Converter-Module-/201595939188
and this one says can handle 32V max so maybe the 36V won't over power it (since pic on main page shows 34.5V but the specs say 30V max)

Awesome...any way you can make this a printable case as well? Very awesome design!

The ebay one is the identical power supply I'm using. It needs a small mod to get the voltage below 35V.
The banggood details state up to 40V so it should work out of the box with the 36V power supply.

Since the case is quite big and I don't have local access to a 3d printer at the moment I decided to make the case suitable for lasercutter fabrication.

You are free to use the files and make it into a 3dp case however.

Hi it looks great, unfortunately the .sldprt files seem to be damaged when converted to .stl. Could you kindly post .stl or .obj files?
Thank you

I didn't really design this for a 3d printer, but I added the files for you.
Don't forget to share a picture of your build!

There is some ripple, but quite ok. I willl try to make some pictures the next days with a scope attached.

Way cool!!!!!!

Definitely going to try to make one of these...simple, and quite useful!

Question...how is the filtering on the output DC do...any ripple?
