Good day folks i have been checking this extruder for my diy 3d printer. I am new to this wonderful technology. I have purchased the parts kit and starting to print all the plastic parts. I have a question regarding the mk7 drive gear. In trying to source where to purchase i see that not all of them have the same measurements ie diameter, height, drive diameter. Is it critical to buy exact dimentions listed here. I have a mk8 from my old printer and not sure if i can use that. 2nd question is for the nema 14 motor. Do i have to buy exact same one listed here. This has probably been asked before. If it has please direct me to where i can find it. Thank you and appreciate the help.

well.. is the same as the original.... no sense winner

Are you planning on announcing the winners here, or somewhere else?

Announced. Sorry about the Delay.

Happy New Year!
Have you decided which fan cover you are going to use?
By the way, the new side mount extruder looks nice! I like the smaller factor.

From the "Made" here, don't see this puppy in your uploads:

GRILLE REJILLAS

Are you going to be uploading the STL files you recieved here? or in some other location? Will we get to see the competition before the selection?

Absolutley, they will be here.

Ok, cool, looking forward to seeing them!

My two submissions are in the "Made" section of this Thing.

Follow the links to download the STLs. One has a customizer for a text band, the other is "muy toranado". Both have 30mm and 40mm versions, though it appears the 40mm is no longer needed, nor required for the contest.

Cheers

When do you want the .stls?

My alteration would be to just make the fan-side of the grille concave, to ensure it doesn't contact the blades. As for using it for identification, given the endless combinations possible, I'd say leave it up to the user to print each one out in a different colour if they need to.

Do you have any constraints on the settings needed to print the new Fan Grille? i.e. nozzle size needed, layer thickness? I'm assuming the requested material type is PLA, for ease of printing.

Also, do you have a design spec for the CFM needed across the extruder cooling fins? Making a quieter fan grille may have an impact on the available air flow.

Can I just post my design as a remix of this thing?

Of course. If you don't mind I'd still like to upload it here as well.
