Hi. I don't see the edge pieces in scad.. I wanted to make them a little thicker.

In the customizer there is a "edge thick" value (in mm), and a "edge height coef" value wich is a scale coefficient of the board thickness.
To see it you must choose a edge part to render.

i just increased the thick and edge thick values.. do i also need to modify the coef? ok i see what it does but i don't think i'll need to change that. thanks!

that's 2 differents parameters, you can do as you want

oh nevermind.. figured out what the render parameter was for. :)

do you have a downlodable stl for all of the cheicters also, i noticed on your page there is the orb for the pawn but i did not see anything els?

But the balls in the paws aren't in the designer of the alien set. How did u get them? Or for 3d print... How long are they in radius? Or diameter?

Wondering if one can make inner corners with these for interesting shaped boards?

Hi just wondering do these pieces fit in the box at 100% or 75% scaling like the chess peices?

100% scaled Chessboard for :
-100% box
-75% chess pieces
-and 75% marbles

Is this the size of a standard Chess Board? If not then any pieces printed on this website will be useless on this without scaling either them or this.

Those STLs are 30mm square. If you want an other size use the customizer, this is made for this reason.

Just got done printing the entire board at .15, am I missing something or do the pieces simply not snap together at all? Seems like they are suppose to line up pretty good, but cant seem to get any of them to line up and snap in. Didn't change the scale at all, printed the default files for each piece.

Though there are small gaps on 3 axis, I am sorry to read that. You should try to adjust the flow to make parts fit.

Then just print the corners or only 2 parts to test if it fit together

Thanks for the quick reply 1sPiRe, I will check those calibration prints out. I just assumed that I wouldnt have an issue, I have done gears in the past. Unfortunate that I just noticed the not fitting after I had printed the entire board :-(. I mean it is close, but just not quite there, debating best way to make them fit.

Any ideas?

File the edges slightly?

I just checked the STLs and there is 0.2mm gap everywere.
Don't file the edges but maybe the inner edges of the plugs...
Mines clip into each other by slightly pushing them on a table.

It looks like I need 37mm for the default size Alien Chess set? Is that right?

Actually i printed the alien chess set at 75%...which needed a 30mm tile chess board. So I would guess that 37m is a minimum size.
The king has the widest base so take it as reference.

Do you have a link for the case as well?
