Nice idea, but unfortunately not so good design ; the rotating part with the gears is tricky, the handle does not snap at all with a good and precise printer, the pole does not snap to the rotating bed at all, so it must be glued. But the angle is imprecise...

Do you need only one bearing? Also, do you have to glue the gear to the crank to make it spin properly?

You know that make anything is selling this (printed) on his web store for $35

I just wanted to tell this, because alot of creators wouldn't allow this.

Thanks for the heads up, but this design is actually a "copy" of the Make Anything version. I watched the youtube video and was inspired to create my own version (from scratch).

To print the Pole Flat, what angle should it be tilted by?

I don't understand the question. You should be able to print it with one of the long flag surfaces down. Two of the sides would work for that and two won't because of the angle of the bottom connection.

When I import the stl in Makerbot, the pole is standing on the side which connects the pole with the rotating_platform. To make it flat, I have to change its orientation by rotating it. What would be this angle of rotation?

Find a "place surface on bed" function like they have in Simplify3d and then just pick one of the sides.

0:30 wouldn't the official name be "hyperboloid"? Cheers!
