Very useful work! It would be very convenient to control directly the tooth pitch_angle instead of the cone_distance. Would it be possible to do this modification at your earliest convenience?

Okay, awesome! In my humble opinion, entering the helix angle directly would be ideal for creating paired meshes.

That's what I'll work on then. I have to make sure the math is correct. I don't want to post something that is wrong.

This is great! I've been looking for this very thing for some time. Quick question: How does the 'gear_twist' parameter translate to a helix angle commonly used with helical gears?

The gear twist is the number of degrees to twist. This value is the devided by the number of teeth. This changes the slant of the teeth but there is another value that affects the slant. It's the height of the gear. Of you make the height smaller, the helix angle will increase. I'm working on a formula to be able to calculate the helix angle (or use the helix angle as input).

I'm not sure actually. I'm looking at the math right now to try to figure it out. Unfortunately, the circular_pitch affects what otherwise might be a somewhat simple equation (which I'd build in to the customizer).
