Very interesting, but the links are all dead, and the stl file included here won't load in 3 different slicers I tried. Could we get the links to the complete build files and needed mirror and foucuser refreshed?

I am also in the process of making one. Someone mentioned to use 500 mm maker beams, but if I measure and calculate, in my honest opinion the beams should be around 650 mm. So I get a bit confused. What will be the correct length?

I got the same problem, did u find a resolution? Best regards

After I bought the mirror, I measured exactly where the focal point should be and adjusted the length of the beams. Tell you the truth, I forgot what the result exactly was, but it works perfectly. Another tip: after I assembled the whole telescope, I started to close the the whole thing with black feature board. Too much light pollution if I keep it open. It is a wonderful design, but it needs some tweaks.

For some reason , that I cannot find , I cant read the stl files with slic3r, pls hlp

I'am beginning to print the Hexonian (wonderful) but I don't know where go the locking plates.

Could you help me?

Thank you.

Do you need to make a change in the lens that removes all the parts by 80%, which lens do you recommend?

Please post a link to a source for the 500mm makerbeams. I can only find 600mm lengths on their website - http://www.makerbeam.com/makerbeam-600mm-1p-clear-makerbeam.html.

Would the same mirror set that you post a link to work if I used 600mm makerbeams?

Hi there! yes you can, provided you alter the design of the beam holders so they can fit. alternatively you can send the beams to be cut to 50cm length and tapped with M3 screw holes

Did you use Makerbeam brand or a different company for your tapped 500mm beam? I am not finding 500mm anywhere and the 600s I find have no hold in the center. I might attempt to modify the beam holders if I can figure that out. If you have any recommendations for 500mm beams, I'd be glad to hear it.

Please keep us updated with assembly instructions and mirror sourcing, this is very cool!
Would a remix be possible to accommodate a 200x200mm build plate without reducing mirror size?

Hi there! you might have to redesign the beam holders a bit if you want to resize it! I would recommend building the base plate that is 25 by 25cm out of wood instead

Wouldn't it be possible to split the big parts into "little" ones ? Kinda like this one (https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2492121) where the big circle at the top is assemble from multiple part allowing it to be printed on smaller printer.
But I really like the rails from your model allowing the whole thing to collapse on itself.
