Hi
If you have measuring and some information on the cans you would like to use then please share them
Then maybe I can integrate them into future designs.
Br

Printed at 50% size would make an awesome dice cup for Fallout :)

This is for people wanting to make this fit a US CAN,
Load the file into TINKERCAD and grab the top and lengthen it to 138mm. Be careful to not change any other dimensions.
I used CURA to slice the file and printed 6 of them on my ENDER 3. All of them fit the US can perfectly.
FYI the 6mm straw hole is too small for 6mm straws so you can adjust the hole or just do what I did and print the 8mm straw lid.
To finish them I sanded with 12o grit on the sand mouse but didn't go crazy about removing all of the lines.
Primed with 3 coats of Krylon Colormaster
Sanded lightly with 400 grit
Sprayed a base coat of Krylon SATIN ITALIAN OLIVE on the body.
Sprayed a base coat of Krylon SATIN BURGUNDY on the lid
Taped of the center with painters tape and sprayed the yellow line using Krylon FARM AND IMPLEMENT John Deere Yellow.
Did some Acrylic aging using Burnt Umber and Burnt Sienna (Adam Savage has a video on how to do this)
Sprayed a clear KRYLON to lock it all down
Finally, Used some silver RUB N BUFF carefully on the sharp edges to give it the worn metal look.
Seems like a lot but I did 6 at the same time so it was like an assembly line.
Hope you guys like it!
Thank you Turbostar for a great conversation piece!

Has anyone tried scaling up to print it for a US 12oz can?

I will make a donation to whoever designs a lid with the 8mm straw hole that fits US 12oz cans.

Has any one created a ring for US 12oz cans.

Love this print. Been using it religiously since I printed it. Per Ozzman and a few other comments a MONSTER version would be sweet!

Thanks so much for this. Appreciated.

This would be awesome if a monster fit in it!!!!

Great proyect! I have only one question, would it be suitable to use it as a cup? How much infill should i put?

Thanks
I can not see why not

my friend and i were wondering, what can is that? its driving him crazy.

No need to go crazy about it, a quick look at the comments box and you will find your answers :)

Twice I have tried to print this and the base of the nuke always deforms where the nuke meets the fins? has anyone else had this?

I just printed this and noticed that the radiation symbol is tilted.

The body and then the lid you want.

How much filament did you use?

I can`t remember

So,
Printed this, and it looks great! However, I suspect that our cans are larger here than there. The can fits in the base nicely and the lid snaps on the can, but here is about a 1 cm between the lid and the base. This is on a 355ml can.

Are the cans in your region designed to hold less? I think I'll print a ring to fit between the two.

Great job!

Hi
I'm sorry to hear that. Our cans are 330CL and that is what I have used as referance. Hope you are able to make a collar as you mention, and that you will share it with others if they were to run in to the same problem :)

Br Søren

It's all good Br,
Considering that the volumes are different, we're kind of lucky that the width of the cans are identical and only the height changed.
I will absolutely share it when I make it. I don't want to print an entire new one, so I'll see about making a collar that looks good with it still.

Curious about the measurements. I'm guessing that CL doesn't stand for centilitre, but I'm also guessing that it is equivalent to a milliliter. Is that so?

Sorry I was writing faster than I was thinking LOL.
Our cans are 330ml and approximately 115mm in height and Ø66mm in diameter. Hope this helps :)

Ja det kan du lige tro

Am I the only one who wants to combine this with the mini-nuke from Fallout?

No I dont think so ☺

Love that green. What brand and color is that?

Hi :)
It is Light Green PLA
from dr3D filament

how snug are the cans? I'm just curious whether I should scale up at all. I dont want to go through the 16 hrs of print time and have the cans not fit!

Just print the top 5mm of the bomb, then you can test fit it ;)

Great idea! Not sure why I didn't think of that!

Looking forward to seeing the finished result :D

I was hoping to have a finished one when I woke up... Instead I have the fins and a shattered print bed. The spool fell off and smashed it last night!

I'm as sorry to hear that :(

Good work on the lid! I added a rim to the inner part of the lid, so that it will stay put when there is no can.

Can Bomb Top with Rim

The lid doesn't seem to fit when putting a can in

The diameter of the cans are the same but the neck of the cans vary from products to products. Try a different brand and it will almost be too loose.

What layer height did you print this at?

0.2mm and 10% infil :D

Thanks. I had a good design to work from :D
