Dunrock, glad you found it of use. My wife uses those bags at times, but she's never said anything about having a hard time using the Dyson to shrink them down. I'll have to ask her if she's using the adapter.

Thanks. Worked a treat with my Dyson upright. I needed something to use with vacuum storage bags as the raised bit on the dyson stops you getting a seal.

When you say "bottom down on a raft" do you mean exactly as pictured where the dyson raised area looks like a T or on it's side as in the 2nd picture? Just want to ensure I orient this correctly.

I'm no fan of printing on a raft, but most of the time that is all that works to keep a print from deforming, coming lose, or lifting in a corner. By "bottom down" I mean the female end should be down on the build plate, as in the 1st image. I was glad to see that the adapter design printed okay without supports, including the raised T-shaped feature, which indexes the adapter to the male end of Dyson attachments, such as extensions and hoses. That blue CAD rendering is something Thingiverse adds. I didn't upload it. Especially if you are going to use the adapter with a battery-powered Dyson, where the adapter might have to support the weight of heavy accessories, you should consider a fill of 100%, as it needs all the strength it can get.

I ended up having to print a remix of yours because the dyson side on yours was to big for my DC50. https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1889773

I was able to force the dyson side in but not securely...the other side worked fine to attach the "ceiling fan vacuum attachment" I had printed earlier.

I'm printing it on PLA 100% infill but don't see it being an issue since the primary purpose is specialty attachments such as the ceiling fan attachment and some others where weight won't really be an issue.

Thanks for the Solidworks Part - helped a lot!

Corpjester: No, it wouldn't work that way. The Shopvac hose is emulated by the male end of the 3d Printed adapter. You would have to have a Shopvac female hose configuration going to a Dyson accessory female end.

Will this work in reverse? I have Dyson accessories I'd like to use with my Shopvac.

Would you be able to upload the CAD file, please?

Great, Thank you.

I've just uploaded the SolidWorks SLDPRT part file. Thanks for asking.

Great! Thank you.
