This is a really clever design - its works great.
I printed a variation to fit on my homemade budget CNC and had it trace out templates I needed to cut out of thin plastic.
It took 2 hrs to draw everything, but worked flawlessly and was very accurate (no excess wobble in the holder).
I used eSun PLA+ and had no issues with flex. I had the pen move down 1mm from the surface of the bed to draw.
Well done and thank you!

Awesome, thank you!

What infill percentage should I use? I don't want to make it so strong that it doesn't flex, nor so weak that it easily breaks.

It should not matter the springy arms should end up being thin walls no matter what.

I tried a spring design. It kept getting stuck. Then I tried this and it worked so much better. I used it in the second half of my short video at https://youtu.be/j_V-aXOoPBY. You can see with my first test with the other design that I had to keep adjusting the marker. I don't think you even see my hand once in the second half using this design. I used PetG to make it because of how flexible it is.

This works quite well. thanks!

High five!

Drop some pictures of your projects in the forums so I can share them.

"High fives back" I will soon.
I just need to build the table before doing much more than testing. The mpcnc is currently sitting on the carpet. lol
I did draw Mario on paper that was taped to glass I had taken from an old Epson printer. It worked well as a temporary flat surface.
I'm doing something different with the table so I will defiantly post that in the forms too when it's done.

This pen holder is genius! Using the flex in the plastic instead of a more complicated design using springs is a great idea.

An On The Run marker? overkill no? lol

It's a good marker for making bold statements. Quickly, hahaha.
