This is awesome. I was actually just talking with my father about something like this. What is your experience with its durability? It likes like the layers of the build are parallel with what you would think the stress might be. Any input would be awesome!!

Thanks Joey. The durability is quite good but as you say the layer direction means it is not as strong as it could be. I have broken a couple when I bashed the mirror against the garage door but other than that it is plenty strong enough.

Thank you for posting this. One of the students here actually wants this for his jeep. Unfortunately, when we slice it using Makerware and put the code into the printer, only the one on the left side actually prints. We can see both the left and right ones in the Makerware. I'm not sure if there is something amiss with the .stl file or if this is a Makerware glitch but I thougth I'd post our findings in case there is some fix on your end.

Hi Thanks for the comments. I think it might be a glitch in Makerware but I don't use that so I cannot be sure. I printed mine on a Thingomatic and had to print them separately as 2 pieces won't fit on the build platform. I'll upload the sketchup file if thats any use to you and then you can arrange it however you like. Hope that works for you.

Yup. Not sure. I uploaded it to Netfab and got a fixed version. Then I put it in Makerware, oriented it differently on the bed, and now it is working. I'm not sure if the fixed STL or the re-orientation or something else caused the fix, but it works now thanks :)
