The exact paint for the blue looks to be dykem marking fluid. Use the spray can that does dry. Some will state that they do not dry. Avoid those

It should be noted that there are two mini maglite options. AA and AAA. The AA version is the correct 18mm diameter

And look - you're noting it for me. But does anyone ever read these comments?

Lol. Did you ever get your acrylic for yours? I'd be happy to send you some as a thank you for the awesome files

Not yet. Thinking of using clear acrylic with a coat of translucent red. You should send them to TheOther10.

What a great model, I made one and it turned out great. I will upload photos in a few days still waiting on the acrylic rod to come in. Luckily I was able to find the knob in stock from a surplus company in the UK.

Just seen it. Nicely finished - it looks great!
Would you care to name the source of your knob for others who might be looking?

Radwell had one for about $16 although it seem their supply is low. But they do offer other buying options. http://www.plccenter.com/en-US/Search/?q=10+turn+silver
All the parts fit well, I had to rummage around Amazon to find spring that would work, I eneded up using two springs per spike. As for the acrylic rod, I got some cheap fluorescent the red/pink rod from TAP plastics, http://www.tapplastics.com/product/plastics/plastic_rods_tubes_shapes/colored_acrylic_rod/148

Paint that I used was a rust oleum flat black as a primer and light blocker, and then strictly silver leaf rub & buff for the bottom handle/body. For the spikes I layered silver rub and buff and metallic blue acrylic paint made by Tamiya.

Hope this helps.
