Would it be desirable to make a diamond-shaped extension on the bottom of the spacers which corresponded to the standard-sized diamond "holes" in the wire mesh? Would that lend any stability? Thanks for posting! Great idea.

Maybe, but they had to fit the mesh and be more difficult to move/reorganize.
Another solution could be to use larger/longer bolts and/or add some weight to the end of the bolts - that would stabilize and not make dependence of mesh grid size.

Is that an adjustable focus head on your laser? If so. Do you have the files so I can print one? Thinking about coming up with something similar. Thanks!

An air assist with replaceable tips is attached to the head of the laser. Air assist top part is aluminum (made on lathe) and the replaceable tips is printed in abs. Focus is fixed, that is the reason for the standoffs.
Great idea with an adjustable focus attachment - saw one on the net, but it was missing the air assist part.

Very cool! Keep an eye open will be doing a new one with neodymium managements. Have designed it up in Open SCAD, just need to get time to print out and test :-)
