Does anyone know if the 50% infill is absolutely necessary? It would take me about 16 hours to print the middle with 50% infill... the hovalin website says it's only a 4 hour print...btw my printer is a cr-10s. Thanks in advance!

This says to use PLA, but would it be better to use pla+, petg, abs or any other filament for better sound and durability?

What is the overall height of the body print if printed in one shot? I can print to a height of 325mm and I'd rather have one piece body rather than 3 pieces glued together. LMK

Total height is about 540 mm total. The parts are not glued together so that any of the 4 parts can be replaced if damaged. The carbon fiber rods and the strings hold it altogether.

540mm for the body alone or from tip of body to tip of neck? I'm looking for just body height without neck.

It's 358mm without the neck.

I printed using the files provided here and it worked out well. However, I can't find the right kind of rods, since the ones listed on the Hovalin site are circular and the holes in these files are rectangular.

Do you have the rod specifications?

I've only managed to print the middle body section. I'd like to finish it, but I'm not sure how to split the upper body, the bast and the neck into smaller sections to fit my printer. Could you modify those parts?

As mentioned in the details, this isn't my design. I would recommend Meshmixer to cut the parts into the sizes that fit your needs. A quick YouTube search of cutting an object with Meshmixer is truly helpful. I would also recommend looking at the other Hovalin designs on Thingiverse that have been modded for smaller printers:

This is great! I need a version with no bridge - that way I could use a sliding bridge (like a banjo). I really want to use this to make a ukulele. I have a neck piece with frets, but I need the bridge to be adjustable in order to get the scale right.

Did you happen to see this ukulele:
It looks really impressive as well!
