I purchased this for the knob that is in the center of the Highlander that controls the temperature. It has the same white part with 3 tabs but a little different. I didn't realize that this was for the side knobs (volume, air direction, fan speed). Has anyone made a print design for the knob in the center?

I made one that is more like the original broken piece if anyone is interested. I originally used this option by jamiekin and it did work really well, but found the knob stuck out a bit so had to make my own.

If anyone is interested: https://superherodiy.com/products/toyota-highlander-broken-climate-control-knob-mount-fix

This piece fit great, thanks! Saved me the work of designing it. I can't believe how bad the original design was!

Help !!! I am trying to post the following on The Highlander Forum. Can't seem to create account. Please see if you can help. I do not have the 3d printer or any of the expertise shown here.- Here's my story --Hi, New to this site. Glad I found it. I have a 2008 Highlander. Pushed in the driver side temperature contol. Took it to Toyota, they said they have to get the entire control panel to fix. Said only 3 in the country and it would be $1405.00. I told them I noticed it is just connected to the white piece referred to in the above posts. They said that eventually the whole panel would go out so I need the whole thing. They said the crack would spread with car usage (going over bumps, etc. ) Is this true? I can still control temp with the "button" removed by turning the white piece. If you don't agree with my service department, someone please advise what was the best easiest fix. I was just contemplating selling and getting a new car and then this happens! My knob controls my temperature, not the mode as shown here. Can you help?

I ordered one from 3D hubs off the "order this printed" link. Make sure you line it up and hammer it in all the way. Easy fix thank you.

Hello Angela8758,
What is the cost for ordering one?

you are a lifesaver
thanks

Printed and fits like a glove. You have to make sure after your knob is broken to keep the white mating piece (in the third picture) and the gray knob cover. The printed part goes inside and connects the two.

Also: the scaling is weird, because the dimensions are in mm, but the layer height is 0.2 mm. If you go with a 1:1 ratio (1mm layers) this thing will be a foot tall. That was a conundrum we had to overcome before printing.

Is this scaled properly?

I printed one off for a client and it seems rather large (its about the same size at the knob).

Please advise.

I printed this out just a few weeks ago too. i had the same issue. It seems like its too large. Maybe needs to be scaled down about 5%-10%?? Anyone else have a similar issue? If so what did you do. BTW this is for a 2008 highlander.

Can I buy one of these from you? Thanks.

I am sorry, I don't know anything about 3d printing. How do I print it via shapeways?
Thanks,
Bruce

Can I buy this piece from you?

This is awesome. Just to be clear, this is for the inside plastic fitting, on to which the outside knob is snapped, correct? I am also missing the knobs, and was wondering if you (or anyone else) had any idea on where to find (or print) them without buying the whole control unit from Toyota. Thanks!

How can I order this part??

You could print it via Shapeways or take the STL to your local hackerspace/createspace.

Just thought I would do a search for Highlander and guess what appeared, the one piece that is broken on mine. Printing right now, thanks for the upload!

My pleasure!
