I'm printing this awesome rims right now. One (maybe stupid) question: The Tamiya F104 tires come with some foam inside, do I have to remove the foam ?

If I remember correctly, I kept the foam! :)

need to glue f104 tire and rims?

Do those rims work with rear-differential mod? https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2361718
I tried to fit, but the tabs dont seem to match.

Differential for OpenRC F1 car.

Wasn't designed to be compatible with the rear diff mod.
Did you try it? it didn't fit?

How do you print these rims? Upright or laying flat?

With the round side touching the bed...

Hello, Thank you for the model.

I was wondering if these would work for the tires I bought. I would appreciate any feedback. I don't want to waste that much filament.

Well, they look like they're the same but I can't tell for sure...

I found out that tamiya recommends the same rims for both our tires, so your design should work fine. I'll print them this week.

What are you using to ensure the tire stays attached to the rim? The bead area only holds for a few seconds.

They sell tire glue...

I use superglue

I tried Loctite Super Glue Gel but it does not make the tire stick to the PLA printed rim. Which glue brand did you use?

Don't use gel, use classic cyanoacrylate glue.

the axle is flush with the outer bearing... normal?

I extended the front wheel axle with 20 % and that gave a perfect fit.

I picked up some tires today but the rim is to small at 43mm. They need to be 45mm to fit the tires.....http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXYJA3&P=7
Also the lip to the bead needs to be another 1.5-2mm towards the center of the rim so the tire lip has more to glue to and the tire will be flush with the rim.

That's weird... I have the same tires and they fit perfectly

Mine have a 3mm flat bead and his first rims only have a 1.5mm bead.

What no comments yet? You guys are slacking. LOL Thanks again.

Haha, you're welcome, I hope they work fine for you!

The rear fit just fine. I am printing the front right now and going to the hobby store tomorrow to get/order the tires.

Okey nice!! Tell me if they fit too!

Sorry yes they fit.
