Very nice. How smoothly do the bins move side to side on the rail? Could this lead to a cheap linear rail bearing based on din rail?

The bins were designed to grip
onto the rails pretty tight but I'm sure you could adjust the design to make them usable as a low precision linear guide. Though you'd probably be better off just purchasing some of the IGUS linear guides as they will perform better.

Thanks for the reply. Im hacking my way up from a wood framed wolfstap/prusa variant i've made and i'm looking to improve the quality enough so i can make the parts for an aluminum body printer. I'm a public school employee so my primary design principle is cheap as possible.

In the back of the bin how come there clip thingy.
I end up cutting it out so it fit in the DIn rail.
Possible you can design open clip on the back and maybe a different clip?

Can the bins be removed easily from the middle of the DIN or do they need to be slid on and off the ends? I have some similar commercial bins and they only clip on over the top.

I just passed on a load oof scrap DIN. Might have to see if it is still around, because the quest for more storage space in the shop is never ending.

The bins can be inserted and removed from anywhere on the DIN rail, they just snap in place, you do not need to slide hem all the way off the end of the DIN rail.
