Hey, I freaking love this gun, you should definitely make more halo guns.

An outstanding example of why the covenant always lost if battles with Earth, their weapons were too hard to reload.

I'm having an issue with the Top-TL piece. It seems to have the slightest of curve on the bottom of the print. Cura is adding supports from the build plate, so it clearly recognizes the curve. The design of the piece looks as though everything should be 90 degree angles and flush. Has anyone else experienced this issue? Am I missing something?

To the creator - nice job. This is really an excellent and well-thought out design. Cheers to you sir.

I, too, have run into this problem. No matter what I try, I can't manage to get it to lay flat.

Even thought its a little off, I was able to fill in the gap with plastic putty and paint. Turned out pretty nice. http://www.thingiverse.com/make:259318

I rotated the part to lay flat and it fits perfectly. Now to paint!

What do you do in post processing to fill in the gaps?

Would this print on a makerbot mini?

I like this, do you think you could make the Halo 5 version?

Almost done making it 75% scale. Gonna post a make today or tomorrow

Just found this file, and it looks great! Also, nice paintjob. I'm gonna try and print this at 66% scale, as I have a needler and energy sword I printed in the same scale.

*note: I just realized my needler is actually 50% scale, but I'm gonna make this 75%

great print, loving your stuff and videos, only just found them.
question on this build, on my printer, the one piece is jut to big for my printer.
would it be ok if i knocked the whole print down to 90%...?

Thank you! That means a lot to me. :)

And yeah, I think it should do just fine with scaling down. I think you could even go to about 75% if necessary. Really the only thing is the pins might not fit as well, but that's a pretty minor issue and shouldn't affect the whole thing very much. Let me know how it goes! :)

One more question I have, can you tell me the types of paint your wife uses, especially the varnish, I can't get my prints to look shiny, no matter how many Coates of airbrush gloss I use.
Cheers

Cheers, thanks for the reply, will be my next project, right after the R2d2, just ran out of filament after body and head, I do have a suggestion for your R2D2, the body print, has 2 clips that attract to the head....I thought if you put 4 clips, it would spin round better.
With the 2 it kinda comes off sideways when you turn it....it's the non electronics version....again superb print.
If you follow me on Twitter @tozol, I've got pics of some the stuff I've done...

Thanks again for reply

I like it a lot!

Any chance you have the full sized model? I was looking to slice it to fit my printer.

Sure thing. I've uploaded it so you should see it in the files now. It's called plasmapistol-full.stl. :)

How many copies of Pin.stl do I need to print to have enough for the whole model?

Oh sorry, I thought I put that somewhere... If I remember correctly it was 16. :)

duuuuuuuude. That is lovely. My overcharging trigger finger is itching.

Glad to hear. :) I couldn't wait to get this one back after painting from my wife.

Thank you, I'll pass the complement onto my wife. :)
