It is loud, if it kicked in at night my heart would stop :D

thanks Man! Good Idea!

Man, this is a cool idea! I am designing my own window opener, but I did not think of this!

Hi friend, i am from Brasil , and first of all, sorry my poor english!!!!!
I have a project similar to yours, but my idea its a bit different, my windows action is a sliding type , so the systems that uses arms dont
work for me, that its not a trouble right now, i will use other mechanics using cables, linear actuators , belts or something like that.
Because that, a potentiometer to measure the position of the system dont work for me, a simple limit switch will solve my trouble!
I advise that you dont use arduino or Rpi on the eletronics, you make simple using a PIC , a motor driver and a regulator.
Said that, my questions are:
1 Can you send to me, or post here, a printed circuit that you are using ? (a picture of it) :)
2 My system will work exactly the same way, instead i will use a limit switches , and i pretend to trigger the system via
rain sensor. its possible to make that eletronics without using arduino or similars?!like you do..... can you help me with this?!

Simple, but efficient ! Maybe I'll try it if I have some time. Do you have an idea of the required motor torque ?

Thanks guys, your idea to use it for a handle-less cupboard is also pretty neat. Maybe you could use RFID to open it or a secret capacitive touch button :).

I think the TL;DR perfectly sums it up! (also all I read!) - it's an awesome thing. I'm gonna make a handle-less cupboard - possibly a prohibition-styled secret compartment! good jerb!
