Hey, great design. Would you mind splitting it into its individual pieces though? I would like to be able to print only 1 or 2 pieces in case they break without having to reprint the whole catapult..

U can find it if you search "Seej".

very cool, you model has two hole options for the spike, which one (front or back) seems to work best?

As you go further forward (front hole) you will get more bombardment aka gain height but loose forward momentum so if you want to add gravity to your force of impact use the forward hole. If you want to gain length of throw use the back hole.
Isn't physics fun ;)

I believe this would be referred to as a Mangonel. It is using a tension force, rather than a torsion force. It is also designed for high speed, straight line throwing, rather than a high altitude "lobbing" technique. :) I could be wrong though.

I see we've come up with the same idea but different approaches. I didn't like the way the original used the rubber band as the pivot point either. This way you can get tons further distance and better accuracy. See my version: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:128388http://www.thingiverse.com/thi...

Interesting..yours must shoot pretty straight from the catapult correct?

Like a line drive? Mine sort of lops because the basket is at a smaller degree. So I guess were looking at a sniper vs a grenade. It would be fun to come up with a fully adjustable someday.

I'm currently reprinting mine because the first shot broke the "bucket" off! LOL Hopefully with the latest print that is still printing now will be stronger.
