This is designed to hold the cable coming off of the Dewalt 611 used on the X Carve. The cable is too thick to go in the roller chain, so it basically hangs off the back of the gantry.
I used hook and loop to hold it to the roller chain; however, there still needs to be a fair amount of slack around the gantry head to accommodate full movement without binding.
This was the first time I have ever used a solid modeling program, and I feel pretty decent about how it turned out.
I wanted this to be pretty sturdy so I printed with 4 shells (perimeters) a at 30% infill.
Replace the rear two 5mm x 20 socket cap bolts used to hold the Z axis motor in place with two 5mm x 25 socket cap bolts.
Press cable holder over the two bolts and nuts, pushing firmly against the rear of the Z axis plate. Secure with 2 5mm nuts and washers.
Route cable through slot in holder and secure with zip ties.
I imported the x carve design from Grab Cad into Fusion 360. I use it as a reference to make the sketch then model the holder.
