Hi can you tell me what the 1 and 2 files stand for ... left and right? Which ones are paired. I see 19 files but there are 14 lobes? Thanks.

Hello, thank you for your interest in this project. The explanation is a bit long; you may want to grab a snack.

There may be 14 lobes in the brain but I recreated the image into 3D puzzles pieces. There are 11 pieces matching the side view and 8 to match the top view. 19 pieces total.

In the pictures I've included the image I used to build the pieces. The parts are sized to meet 1:1 scale of the image when printed on letter size paper.

The image displays the side and top view of the brain. Parts labeled "Brain1-X" are for the top view image. Those labeled "Brain2-X" are the pieces for the side view.

The second number in the file name (Example: BrainX-1) are not matched with the numbers in the image. I have numbered them this way for sake of keeping accountability while I was building. However, by placing them together in numeral order the pieces will fit along side one another.

For the left and right pieces two files will have the same name followed by an "L" or "R" at the end. (Example: "Brain1-6L", "Brain1-6R")

I hope this clears things up a little, please let me know if you have more questions.

Thanks again,
