the slots in the parts are too big, the bottom leaves fall through and the other parts feel loose (they are able to be held together). I thought about 3d welding the bottom on but I think it looks better without the bottom leaves. Everything else looks good, great idea for a Christmas gift, the slots could be a bit smaller, that way the model has a more tight fit.

Could you add parts without a frame?

Sure, the tree is now created with OpenSCAD making it fully customizable, including not printing the card.

I ran one with the basics settings here: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4039432.

To make your own version, use the customizer link above.

Christmas Tree without the card
by w3ace

considered tipping you until your next sentence was "praises and thanks don't buy cups of coffee" what a dick. no thanks for this design I'm about to put into over 50 Christmas cards this season.

Well, it is true... as nice as praises & thanks are, anyone struggling to get by while working hard to design & create things for ppl to print freely will tell you the same. Maybe consider what it's like to be "starving" artists, makers, creators...
What are you creating & giving as freely?

Worked great with standard settings and no supports, rafts, or brim, on my Monoprice Voxel. Perfect fit of the pieces.

Ah yes, a tree that I can put on my tree

works great for xmas parties

Like some others I found the centre support is too small to hold the branches in the correct position - in fact the bottom branch falls off completely and all the others slip down too far :-(

Branches seem to slip off easily. Doesn't seem properly sized really.

Really like this thing. I attempted to print multiple times, but it just turns out a big mess on my Tevo Tornado. Sure wish I could get this to work on my printer. The wife loves it too.

Printed fine if i changed my print settings to pick up the nozzle during movements. Problem seemed to be that with the patter here both cura and SD3 wanted to drag the tip over the center pieces.

Really fun print but I had to use super glue to hold the center parts together and keep the bottom branch from falling off. After I did that, the other branch sections stayed in place with a friction fit.

Great thing, could you add a version without the Merry Christmas text, so it becomes more scale-able? Thanks!

Done and Cheers. I am not sure how it will scale, this was an early design of mine that ought to be redone to make it fit better. Let me know how it works for you.

Peace and Inspiritus

Thanks a lot! Early design or not, it is great!

Hi, i wanted to post this on Etsy, Do i have your permission and if so what would you like to put in the attribution line?

Thanks, great work!

That's correct. Creative Commons - Attribution. Hit the Tip Jar as you exit through the gift store.

Thanks man, Would I be able to use your pictures as well?

This is the first one of these kinds of puzzles that I have been able to successfully get off the build plate and still be completely intact!

It printed fine for me in PLA but the bottom plate falls off the trunk of the tree. Is it meant to hold together on its own?

Its wonderful in white PLA.

my current issue is getting this to stick to the bed with transparent green PLA.

And when I use a raft, the parts stick to the raft too much (first time I've seen this issue with rafts) and break when I try to pry them off. :/

I printed without raft using AMZ3D transparent green PLA. Stuck to the bed so hard that I broke the pieces to pry them off. White AMZ3D PLA worked better. Have not tried with a raft.

second request to make one without the year OR make it customizable with a new year every year

I have removed the 2015 from the card. Thanks for the suggestion to make a customizer, I will try in the coming days.

Could you please update this without the year?
