I created a little stand to keep this thing from rolling around when displayed. It does contain a few polygons derived from this model, so technically it could be considered a remix. If you think it violates the license and you want me to take it down, no problem :) If on the other hand you want me to explicitly mark it as a remix, I can try (I'm not sure if the website will allow it).

Display Stand for Ball in Vine

I don't see any problem with you referencing my design like you've done. It looks great! And I don't think it violates the license.

I would be cool with one where the vine and the ball are different files so you can use two colors

If they are two separate files, how do you set up the registration so they print correctly? Alternatively, you could color the vine with paint markers or even spray paint (after masking the ball) after printing.

The files have X/Y/Z coordinates, so they'll be aligned. Just don't move the parts around manually...

I uploaded separate files for the ball and vine. Please let me know if this works. I opened them in another CAD program and they look aligned.

I try it out and let you know when I post the files.

You could use this method to make multiple nested spheres, just like the Chinese carve from Ivory, leaving round holes by which you can see each smaller, more inside, sphere.

I tried something like that. I duplicated the "vine" three times, shrinking each one so they nested. However I didn't shrink them enough because some are fused and won't move independently. I'm not sure whether to continue on that path or try something else.

Thanks for your comment.
