I am totally lost on the auto bed leveling configuration in Marlin. I got the probe installed now and I have found some YT video going through the Auto Bed Leveling section but it does only describe it for a cartesian printer.
How do I set :
// these are the offsets to the probe relative to the extruder tip (Hotend - Probe)

What else do I have to set. What can be left alone ?

This probe looks really cool but the documentation is simply just non-existent.

Will this work with Repetier firmware? I really love this idea and will get my Hall sensor in a day or two to try to make one myself. But I use Repetier. Where can I find more information about setting up this type of z-probe in firmware? Thank you so much! Your design is the most elegant!

I didn't like the idea of cutting a hardened sewing needle as it wasn't going to give me a clean flat end (likely to just shatter). Instead, I used a 10p 3.5" finish nail that is much easier to cut and I cleaned up the cut using a Dremel tool with a grinding wheel. I did have to drill out the plastic a bit to get it to slide smoothly (if you can find a thinner 3.5" finish nail, go for it). I left the head on the nail so I can put a washer on the probe end to make it easier for an inclined fixture to pull the probe down for deployment. Sometimes being able to run to the local hardware store is a lot more immediate gratification than waiting 3 weeks for something shipping from China

I'm looking for the most current version of the Hall-Effect sensor (the one with the potentiometer) where might I ask did you find the one you have?

Just put something on the lower shaft and walk it into a fixture with an incline to pull it down

Did a derivative of this for the Rostock MAX effector: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:161753http://www.thingiverse.com/thi...

Hall-Theta (Hall-O) Z-Probe Bed Leveling Mount for Rostock MAX

How is it dropping (trigger) I get the magnet sensor but the drop and raise trigger i cant wrap my head around

I think you have to manually deploy it by pulling the rod down. I'm working on a derivative that will work with a Rostock MAX and magnets/metal rods you can get in the US easily, and it seems to me that unless you make it "sticky" it's liable to deploy in the middle of a print.

yes, the deploy is manual. The probe retraction is automatic.
A strong grip of the probe is guaranteed by the second magnet

Shouldnt this be doable with a traditional reprap too?

Very clever design - I really like how the auto-retract at the end of the cycle uses the magnet for tripping the hall sensor and holding the probe retracted. All I have to do now is build a Rostock...
