Used PLA at 80% fill and it was very fragile. I applied a tiny bit of pressure with the wing nut and it snapped. Could have been how the fill was set though. Would it be more flexible with a lower density fill, or maybe used a different filament? This is such a good idea though!

  • is that abs?
  • i got a scan of my hand and was going to use meshmixer to extrude larger throw away inside, then do again to make a perfect fit. But things never come out SOLID like this. How did you design this? What with?
  • what about a base unit which allows lots of snap in specialty attachments?
With your own printer there can be lawn mower attactments, etc!

I designed this with Blender ( https://www.blender.org/download/ ), printed PLa.
I'll upload soon the original files. Maybe you can modify them. Are mesh, not solid.
Sorry, because my English is very poor : (
I could better explain in Spanish

What you need modification? Maybe I can help you. You can write to me by private.

Gracias.

My daughter took spanish for 6 years, and there is translate.google.com.
I've been slowly working on a flexy2 hand. I've learned meshmixer. blender is next on my list.

I've transformed it by size, but it needs to really be transformed parametrically along EACH axis. Meshmixer doesn't do that too well.

Recently, I got a full hand scan down to 1mm. I will try that in meshmixer.
Thanks.
