I like how this ended up and I must say that I am fond of optimization techniques and organic/cellular design for stronger parts. Airbus proved that metal 3D printing this way gets stronger parts with less material. With 3D printed parts, the more outer layers we have and the more holes we have (around which the slicers are forced to create perimeters) the stronger the part is.

As nice as Altair is it doesn't seem to be optimized for plastic parts, this could have been even more intricate and riddled with precisely-positioned holes. But all in all is a good step in this direction.

Have you managed to optimize on it or do you still have the one with a broken tube?

mine still has a broken tube and has another 200+ hours on it since installation. machine is more precise and a little less loud. huzzah!
