MakerBot Print is our newest print-prepration software, which supports native CAD files and STL assemblies,
allows you to interact with all your printers via the Cloud, and many other exciting new features.
I haven’t added the magnets yet, and I’m using a custom design for the draw deck holder, but these will do nicely until expansions require new solutions. :)
How long did it take you to print the card storage box? My slicer is showing 31 hours, yikes!
About 25 hours (.2mm layers and 10% fill) and not at all worth it. It was my first week with the printer and the game, so I was still figuring things out. The box is way overdesigned as far as wall thickness, and there's a tiny space between the edge walls that results in a ridiculous amount of tiny motions as it fills that space. Might be faster with 100% fill. Regardless, since the cards stick up, it's not good for box storage. For the card storage, I've moved on to using a nice hinged box (FF_MiniCardBoxes) found here. For during game play, I'm using a custom tray I made where I can input card size, deck height, wall thickness, number of decks and whether or not I want 2 rows. I have a 3x2 tray for the wound, fear, and weakness decks, and everything else stays in the hinged boxes, as it's accessed infrequently.
Great info! I'm in the same boat, I just recently got my printer up and going and I'm excited to start organizing my games even more for faster setup. Thanks for the explanation
I’ll try to upload my 3x2 card tray later. It’s a very quick print and will handle 6 American mini sized decks, sleeved, up to an inch thick. Like I mentioned, for this game I’m using it for 3 decks with the 2nd row used for discards.
