This time I did this on 2 ender 3s and again great success with leveling and no issues with adhesion. Im telling you folks do not pass this up, it is literally worth every minute to complete and make the conversion. On the E3 this process take no more than 10- 20 minutes if you know your printer well. this guide paired with this mod for the Ender 3 https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3193722, and all worries and need to level disappear.
The new mounting hole should be drilled at 84.5mm from either the center of either of the original mounting holes to the middle of the plate (follow guide in the linked mod for the 3 point adapter. The original bolts are 4mm wide, I like to have more tolerance than less, as the threads tend to catch on holes with less tolerance, especially with metal to metal. So I drilled my new mounting hole for 4.7625mm or 3/16 inches.
REMEMBER TO MARK THE PLACE TO DRILL AT THE CENTER OF WHERE YOU WANT TO PLACE THE NEW MOUNTING HOLE, AND IT SHOULD BE MEASURED FROM THE CENTER OF EITHER ORIGINAL MOUNTING HOLE NOT THE SIDES AS WE WANT CENTER TO CENTER MEASUREMENTS. (CENTER TO CENTER IS EXACTLY 84.5MM OR 3.326772 INCHES. IF YOU ARE NOT CENTERED PROPERLY YOU WILL NEED TO MAKE ADJUSTMENTS TO THE PRINTED MOD. ALSO THE HOLE IN THE PRINTED MOD IS EXACTLY 4MM DEPENDING ON HOW ACCURATE YOUR PRINTER IS. I RECOMMEND DRILL OUT THAT HOLE AS WELL TO 4.7625mm or 3/16 INCHES AS WELL.
If I can do this on 2 completely different printers, so can you, because I'm a scrub in this game.
