Hey mine is the first posted make for this shroud :)
Finally, I was able to install my Noctua 20x40 5v fan !
Had a hard time getting it off my build plate tape, and ended up 1) breaking one of the inside fan mounts and 2) warping the front face (it kind of shows in the pics)
Spacing on all holes and pegs seemed to come out correctly. The hotend fan fit right over the pegs, the mounting screws matched up and the part fan holes were great.
I have an EZABL and the screw mounts tabs on this shroud are thicker than on the original shroud, so I could no-longer use the original (shorter) mount screws.
Instead I had to steal 2 of the 4 longer fan-mount screws - The fan still mounts fine (and I had broken one of the mount legs anyway, remember)
This also meant re-measuring the distances from the hot end to EZABL and updating my firmware.
- Y offset went from -11 to -13
- X offset went from -47 to -48
It doesn't seem like the X distance should have changed, so I may have just had a measuring error prior to the install.
As mentioned in the print settings, I did print with supports, but I may have been able to get away without them. They added a little extra time to the print and also some added thickness to the mount tabs which I spent a few minutes smoothing out to ensure I could fit my EZABL.
Everything seems to have gone okay and I have posted a pic of the installed shroud along with the first print !
Thanks for taking the time in creating and making this shroud available !
