.3mm layer height 50 mm speed. I should have done the tongue...
That ball is ON that platform.
I removed a portion of the eye with meshmixer by selecting it and extracting by .2mm X axis and added it to the ball stl. I should also do the tongue but move it normal to the object. The underside of the arms should also be done but I didn't really know what was the underside. There are freckles on the face in the picture. I don't know how significant they are so I left that alone.
I printed at .3 so droops would appear under the tentacles. This makes them appear as suckers. I didn't expect the object to be sooo small.
I used a white PLA that really melts and bonds at 180. I used a translucent blue at 245. At the higher temp it is less opaque and shinier.
I used Cura 15.04.2 with an ooze shield and wipe tower. no support/no raft. The model prints great by itself.
I WANTED to make the ball spin by printing a rod through the base to my Z axis. But it was printed into the belly and a base ring. That will take more model work...
Nice job! 2 color printer... my next one will be
Print one with a diamond head... Get some colors.
