Computer geek, before geek was cool!
I had no idea where to start, so I bought a cheap, and I mean cheap, CTC (Makerbot clone), because it was pressembled and "came with everything I needed."
The short story is now I'm building a new a project. An i3 clone, based on Reprap and Arduino2560 + RAMPS 1.4 + Repetier firmware. Repetier, before Marlin, only because I can get faster access to to support and more when needed. I can change Firmware in 5 Minutes, now, I can be on Marlin if I wanted! So that means I'm more into mod's right now than perfection. Z-Probe is next, because bed leveling sucks!
After what seems like a 100 hours of tinkering I finally have a real project that looks like it will be cool. CTC fan V2. I'm digging it!
Turned my printer off the other night and now it's coming up with a Thermocouple error. I'll replace that and get back on online soon. Still wrapping up the i3. I'll be making solider connections tonight. Waiting for 22.5 mm heat sinks so I can get my Toranado's in place.
Man how things change. My CTC broke the Thermocouples weeks ago and still trying to find time to fix that.
My HE3d i3 is built. Everything working but extrusion, teflon clog from the drill is my guess. I'll tackle that tomorrow and hopefully have a printer thaqt works again.
