August camp!

by RyanPetroff

Remember the theme of camp is MAINTAIN A CHILL DEMEANOUR AND HAVE MEGA FUN!

Everything that wants to be printed will be posted in this thread, please!

1) Size your models in Cura.

2) Ask a peer to check the layers of your model and make sure nothing is floating. If everything looks good, get one of the Maker Mentors to validate your file.

3) Save the .amf file in Cura. (Under File->Save Model)

4) In Tinkercad, upload your model to Thingiverse. (Design -> Upload to Thingiverse)

5) That .amf file saved from Cura must also be uploaded to Thinigiverse. [On Thingiverse](Edit Thing -> Browse) !This is the file that will be printed, so it is very important!

6) Give credit to the models you remixed. Sometimes the remix feature doesn't work - if this happens, write about what you used in the description and include a link to the models.

7) Publish the object on Thingiverse!

8) Add the object to the Maker Academy Group. (Edit Thing -> Share in My Groups)

9) Post a link to your object page on this thread. (URLs will get turned into links automatically when you post. Your URL should look like http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:000 and then it will become like http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:000 )

10) You're done! Double check the steps to make sure everything worked out correctly.

Maker Academy 3D Session June 3 2016

by RyanPetroff

Hey makers! Let's have a REMIX PARTY! It's been a great year, let's celebrate!

What was your favourite part of CAD CLUB this year?

Look through the Maker Academy models and find one to remix!
OR make something completely original!

While designing in Tinkercad, make sure to check your models in Cura early and often!

Everyone gets up to 40 minutes of print time. Here are the requirements for prints:

════════════════════════════════════════════════════════

1) Size your model to 40 or less minutes in Cura.

════════════════════════════════════════════════════════

DOUBLE CHECK EVERYTHING, and if a link to your object appears below, you'll get your print next session!
Did you double check all the steps? Don't be lazy!

All valid objects that follow these rules will get SO PRINTED!

Go forth, make some remixes, let's have some fun!

Code-generated 3D Models

by RyanPetroff

Code makes everything we do in CAD CLUB possible. Let's get a little closer to it and see what it can do for us!
Everyone will be making their own custom ruler with their own name on it for use in class. Taking measurements is key for 3D modelling, so these rulers are going to come in handy.
