I was enjoying designing and printing custom dice when I came across this eye-opening article:
I was amazed to find out that the dice that come with most games are not fair. Casino dice are consistently fair; they have no "pips" and square corners. Pips,the hollowed out dots on dice to indicate the value, throw off the evenness of the weight. The cool looking rounded corners are actually a money saving ploy by dice manufacturers.
In short, all my pretty dice lie! I did some roll testing for myself, which was much less vigorous than what was done in the article, but definitely showed that my dice are far from fair.
Does anyone have good ideas for creating dice that are fair?
