Prusa Slicer 2.0.0

by Broken3ways

So besides the Creawsome mod for Cura 4.0, I've also been playing with the new Prusa Slicer 2.0.0

I'm seeing a lot to like here too. As a relative noob, I played with several slicers at first, and decided to focus on one until I knew what I was doing a little better.

So, I'm going to spend some time now trying Prusa's new release (It's been renamed from Slic3r PE to reduce confusion with SLic3r.)
I'd like to hear from other Creality Ender 3/Pro users what they like/dislike with this release.

While I love the Creawsome nozzle size selection feature, I find the Prusa Slicer method just as easy, and much easier the stock Cura.
I'm too sleepy to get my other thoughts out right now, but how about yours?

Brittle PETG - layers seperating

by ArsMoriendi3D

Hello everyone! This is the first time I am printing PETG to repair my CR10.

My problem is that when I removed the printed piece from the hotbed, it immediately snapped. For some reason the layers are not sticking together well, and I can break it up quite easily.

In the picture, the first one was printed at 240 degrees, 0.12 layer height and 30mm/s speed. The second one with 250 degrees, cooling at 30%.

The purple print is PLA with my usual settings and that one is STRONG. Yet I need the heat resistance from PETG since it's used as a hotend cooling piece.

Have anyone experienced the same problem, and figured out what needed to be adjusted?

The filament used is Stronghero3D (recommended temperature 230-250 degrees).

Upgraded Carriage

by SgtTaz

Going to be trying out this upgrade from Gulfcoast-robotics.com. The idea intrigued me as I hear constantly that the added weight of the glass causes issues with the stepper motor (I've never had an issue) knocks on wood ;) The plate was linked to a handle and camera add on which have a dedicated mount location instead of being mounted with the springs. The other feature is a 3-point level system (which I'm not 100% on how that works yet) I plan on shooting video of this adventure and will post the link once I complete the setup and testing. Just thought I'd share in case anyone else is interested. Seems like a descent addition and it wasn't overly expensive at $25. I will update with the link to the video once I get it completed

Creawesome Cura 4.0 mod

by SgtTaz

Seen a video of this on YouTube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mOn-VNqg2ac Figure it's worth a look as some of the print issues I've seen people are having with cura are addressed with this setup. I'm testing it now so your mileage may vary :) Link to git hub -don't use the clone version scroll down and use the link in the description. https://github.com/trouch/CreawsomeMod

More layer shifts :(

by printingjunkie

I have been printing for almost a year now and the layer shifting had always been a small problem but it is getting worse. Also I have an excellent build plate so that is not the problem I think it is the gantry wobble ( see video ), I tightened all of the screws and no help please advise.

How would I design replacement door shelf on SamSung fridge?

by jmanson360

Got my Ender 3 Yay!!! Also picked up one of the 500x500 printers too Still in the box until I cut my teeth on the small one.
I have a broken shelf on my fridge and I cannot find a print for it. I have pics and even pics i have cropped but Im not quite sure how I would design it in a program. All the ones I have tried wont do "walls" (only way i can explain it) I can do squares and rectangles but cant hollow them out or curve the corners.

Anybody have any suggestions other than stab myself?

Shifting in the same Layer

by adriariel057

Hello! I have a problem with my ender 3. I want to print a model and the print fails in always in the same location Z. With the other printer ... the gcode file runs correctly. The belt resistance of all engines is fine. I tried to format the SD in FAT16 and FAT32 and the problem persists. Thanks!
