I'm sorry to say i haven't continued building my U47 due to medical reasons. So i haven't printed the techrack myself yet. I'll get to it eventually though.
For all designs i post: as long as they are marked 'work in progress' i probably haven't printed it myself, or i have but are unhappy with the result and i need to tweak it.
As far as placing the tech equipment goes, i was thinking doing it this way:
On top of the front table: RX, Bruggen's SBTS, ESC and a switch decoder (like the one for the Futaba FC16)
underneath the table should fit a NiCD or LiPo battery pack up to about 5Amph
after the front table comes the 750ml Piston Tank from Engel, motor facing to the rear. The tube comming out at the front can be neatly guided to the rear through the holes in the bulkheads. The tank is supported by 2 bulkheads, the last one should be mounted right at the end of the tank, before the tank's motor. It has a small table at the bottom for mounting the SBTS should it produce too much interference when it's near the RX. Next bulkhead with the 2 large holes fit the 2 motors included with the U47 kit. the Bulkhead after that has holes through which the axles go. and a table at the bottom for fitting the ESC should that introduce interference to the RX. Bot Motor bulkheads have a central hole through which the Ballast Tank's axle can move.
The last table has room for 4 servo's (i took the measurments of the one i like to used: Karbonite TigerII's, but they are pretty standard size so many servos should fit, if not you can always download the .scad file and adjust the parameters.)
The whole thing is held together by 3 M6 threaded bars, using washers and nuts to position the bulkheads in place.
The holes in the side of the bulkheads are meant to guide the tubing for the ballast tank and pressure sensor on the SBTS, as well as the electrical wiring.
There is already 1 tweak i like to implement before i print this techrack. And that's mountpoints for a movable fixed ballast (lead) connected to a motor and a n electronic Gyro. This should help keep the boat in balance, since using 1 balast tank always introduces a bit of nose or tail heaviness when its not entirely empty or full. it could also help it making an emergency surface.
