Actually I was quite disappointed too: I had a 3DTouch (BLTouch-clone) which was pretty inaccurate so I tried to improve with a capacitive or inductive probe, so I tried both. The capacitive one was even less precise than the 3DTouch. I tried to adjust it to 7.5mm with the screw as the datasheet states a detection distance from 5-10m. (But I've also tried larger and shorter distances out of desperation.) In the end I had to give up as the probe didn't work reliably at all. Then I gave an inductive probe a short try, but this didn't work at all.
I think the glass bed with only the thin alloy plate is not massive enought to be detected by any of these probes, but exactly this kind of bed turned out to be so uneven, that I couldn't run it without ABL.
After trying this I got me an original BLTouch and it was precise beyond my expectations. Just wow!
For that one I use triple probing with bilinear ABL and Catmull-Rom subdivison in Marlin 2.0.x.
